BS Artificial Intelligence is a four-year undergraduate degree of COMSATS University Islamabad profile offered by the Department of Computer Science. According to the Undergraduate Guide the programme is run at the Islamabad campus, so applicants from other cities should expect to study in the federal capital or confirm with the admissions office whether their campus has added it.

Program Overview

The AI degree shares its first three semesters with computer science (programming, data structures, discrete mathematics, databases) and then branches into the intelligent-systems core: probability and statistics for AI, machine learning, deep learning and neural networks, computer vision, natural language processing, knowledge representation and reasoning, and AI ethics, ending in a research-flavoured final year project. It is a good fit for students who are strong in mathematics, enjoy experimenting with models and data, and want to build recommendation engines, vision systems or language tools rather than conventional business software.

Career Scope in Pakistan

Employers in Pakistan now advertise for machine learning engineers, computer vision developers, NLP engineers and AI product developers, especially in fintech, e-commerce, telecom analytics and the growing cluster of AI-focused export start-ups in Islamabad and Lahore. Government digitisation projects and research labs attached to universities also take AI graduates. Because tools change fast, graduates who build a portfolio of trained models and competition entries during the degree are the ones who convert the qualification into a strong first job.
