Admission Process

KKKUK admits for the Fall semester each year. Applications are online only, with the fee paid against a computerised challan.

  1. Open the online application link on kkkuk.edu.pk during the admission window (the portal is live only while admissions are open).
  2. Fill in the form — a candidate may apply to up to three undergraduate disciplines.
  3. Generate the challan and deposit the processing fee at the Bank of Khyber, KKKU Karak branch (Rs. 1,000 reported in the 2026 announcement; confirm on the official website).
  4. Merit lists are posted department-wise on the news section; the Fall 2026 lists went up on 6 October 2026.
  5. Report to the department with original documents and pay the semester fee by the stated date.

Entry Test and Merit

No entry test is required for BS admission; merit is prepared from academic records on an open-merit basis with reserved seats for erstwhile FATA (4 percent), Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, Balochistan, Afghan and foreign students, other provinces, sports, minorities and persons with disabilities. The official site does not publish a numerical weightage — check the official website. MS, MPhil and PhD applicants need GAT or the university test. See the KKKUK entry test and merit page.

Fee Structure

A fee-structure page exists on the official site but figures were not available in the pages reviewed — check the official website or the prospectus PDF linked from the admissions page.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

The official site has a Financial Aids and Scholarships section; the 2026 announcement states that merit-based and need-based scholarships are available but gives no amounts. Ask the admissions office, and browse the scholarships archive for HEC need-based and Ehsaas options.

Campuses

KKKUK operates from its main campus in Karak. No sub-campuses are listed on the official website.

Why Students Choose KKKUK

For students of Karak and the neighbouring southern districts, KKKUK is the closest public university with computing, health technology and science degrees, which saves hostel costs in Peshawar or Kohat. Its newer programs such as Artificial Intelligence, Renewable Energy and Remote Sensing and GIS are aligned with regional industry around oil, gas and energy.
