Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology (KFUEIT) is a public-sector university located on Abu Dhabi Road in Rahim Yar Khan, southern Punjab. Named after the Sufi poet Khwaja Ghulam Fareed, it was set up by the Government of Punjab in the mid-2010s to bring engineering and IT education to the Bahawalpur division and the wider south of the province. Today it describes itself as offering more than a hundred academic programs, with engineering and computing at the core and a growing set of life sciences, food science and management departments alongside. It is HEC-recognised and sits in the public sector. For test details see our KFUEIT entry test guide, and for current deadlines see the KFUEIT admissions 2026-27 record.

Faculties and Undergraduate Programs
The official website groups departments under engineering, computing, sciences and management, and states that the university runs 28 engineering and 10 computer science and IT degree programs within its overall catalogue. Undergraduate options that the site highlights include:
- BS Mechanical Engineering (Institute of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering)
- BS Computer Science, plus data science and AI tracks
- BS Food Science and Technology
- Life sciences degrees under the Department of Life Sciences
- Further engineering disciplines such as electrical, civil, chemical and software engineering listed under Faculties & Departments
Because the catalogue changes, use the “Faculties & Departments” menu on kfueit.edu.pk for the live list, and browse our programs archive to compare similar degrees at other universities.
Admission Process
KFUEIT states that admission is merit-based and has three parts: meeting the academic eligibility for the chosen program, passing the university entry test, and an interview. The university says it announces admissions once or twice a year; the main intake is Fall, and a Fall 2026 admission notice is posted on the official site. The typical route is:
- Create an account on the e-Portal and complete the online application form.
- Upload scanned academic documents and a photograph.
- Pay the application processing fee through the challan generated by the portal (amount: check the official website).
- Appear in the KFUEIT entry test on the date announced.
- Check merit lists on the portal and submit dues before the deadline.
Admission queries are handled on WhatsApp (+92 301 1006061, 09:00 to 15:00) and by email at admissions@kfueit.edu.pk, according to the official site.
Entry Test and Merit
KFUEIT conducts its own entry test for undergraduate admission. The official Admissions section has pages on the entry test, merit determination and reserved-seat quotas, but the exact section-wise pattern and weightage were not readable at the time of writing, so check the official website for the current formula. Our KFUEIT entry test page explains the general structure and preparation approach.
Fee Structure
The university does not publish an undergraduate fee table on its public pages that we could verify; the only fee schedules on the site relate to affiliated colleges. For the current semester fee of each program, check the official website or the prospectus, or ask the admissions office directly. Compare fees across institutions in our universities archive.
Scholarships and Financial Aid
KFUEIT runs a dedicated Scholarships and Financial Assistance Department and states that it has awarded scholarships worth 125 million (currency and period not specified on the site). Official pages list financial aid and scholarship programs (scholarship programs page). Students usually also apply for need-based support through HEC and Punjab Government schemes; see our scholarships archive for details.
Campuses
Besides the main Rahim Yar Khan campus, the university operates a Rajanpur Campus, listed on the official site under Campuses. See our campuses archive.
Why Students Choose KFUEIT
KFUEIT is the main public engineering and IT university serving Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur and Rajanpur, which means lower living costs for students from southern Punjab compared with moving to Lahore. Its program range is broad for a young university, and the campus has grown quickly. Rankings are not quoted here because no official ranking figure is published by the university.
Student life at KFUEIT is shaped by its location: Rahim Yar Khan is a mid-sized city on the Karachi–Lahore rail and motorway corridor, so students from Sadiqabad, Bahawalpur, Rajanpur and upper Sindh can reach the campus easily. The university provides hostel accommodation on campus for both male and female students; availability and hostel charges should be confirmed with the hostel office at the time of admission, because they are allotted on merit and capacity each year.
Applicants should also note the admission quotas the university publishes for reserved seats, such as seats for DAE holders, Balochistan and other categories, listed on the “Admission quotas / reserved seats” page. Reserved-seat candidates still have to sit the entry test and submit the same documents, but they compete within their own category rather than on open merit, so reading that page before applying can change your program strategy.
