Admission Process

KMU runs one BS admission cycle a year, aligned to the FSc result. For 2026-27 the online forms opened on 20 June 2026 and closed on 9 October 2026.

  1. Register on the BS admissions portal and fill in academic details (candidates may initially apply on FSc Part I marks).
  2. Print the challan and pay the application processing fee at a bank branch; the payment is verified on the portal after about 72 hours.
  3. Appear in the KMU-CAT on the notified date — candidates from other provinces have a separate specified date.
  4. Update FSc Part II marks when the result is announced.
  5. Merit lists are published on the portal; selected candidates complete admission at the allotted institute.

Admission is on a merit-cum-quota basis for candidates from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the merged districts, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan and other provinces. In-service candidates need two years of government hospital experience and must apply through proper channel. Source: https://bsadmissions.kmu.edu.pk/.

Entry Test and Merit

The KMU-CAT is compulsory for all BS programs. Aggregate: 10 percent SSC, 50 percent HSSC (Pre-Medical) and 40 percent entrance test; the portal provides an aggregate calculator. Source: https://bsadmissions.kmu.edu.pk/. Read the KMU-CAT guide for pattern and preparation.

Fee Structure

The BS admissions portal does not publish tuition figures or the processing-fee amount in the pages reviewed. Check the official website or the prospectus for the program-wise fee schedule.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

No scholarship scheme is listed on the BS admissions portal. KMU students in public-sector programs are normally eligible for HEC need-based support and provincial endowment schemes; confirm with the Directorate of Admissions and Academics. Our scholarships archive lists national schemes.

Campuses

The main campus and the constituent institutes — Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Institute of Public Health and Social Sciences, Institute of Pathology and Diagnostic Medicine and Institute of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences — are in Hayatabad, Peshawar. KMU also has affiliated and constituent colleges in other districts; the BS portal references a Peshawar region, so check the official website for the current list of regional institutes.

Why Students Choose KMU

KMU is the natural home for Pre-Medical students in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who do not secure an MBBS seat but want a clinical career: its allied health and rehabilitation BS degrees lead to recognised hospital posts, and public-sector fees keep the cost manageable. A single test, the KMU-CAT, covers more than two dozen programs, so one application reaches many options.
