The University of Home Economics Lahore (UHE) is a public-sector women’s university on Main Boulevard, Gulberg II, Lahore, Punjab. It traces its roots to the College of Home Economics founded in 1955 — the first of its kind in Pakistan, according to the Vice-Chancellor’s message — and was upgraded to a university by the Government of Punjab. UHE is known for art and design, nutrition and dietetics, human development, psychology and textile and fashion design, and it still runs intermediate classes alongside BS, MS and PGD programs. It is HEC-recognised. See the UHE entry test guide and admissions 2026-27 record.

The merit formula is not published on the pages we verified; check the official website. See the UHE entry test page.

UHE operates from its Gulberg campus in Lahore; no sub-campuses are listed. See the campuses archive.
Why Students Choose UHE
UHE is the only public university in Pakistan built around home economics, design and nutrition, which gives it specialised studios and labs that general universities rarely have. Its women-only setting in central Lahore and phased admission calendar also make it accessible for late applicants.
UHE’s Gulberg campus is one of the most central university locations in Lahore, close to Liberty Market and Main Boulevard, which makes daily commuting from most of the city practical. The campus houses design studios, a nutrition and food laboratory block, a business incubation centre and an auditorium named after Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, all of which are used as test venues during admissions.
The phased admission system means that applicants who miss the first deadline in summer often get a second and third chance, as the university re-opens applications for seats left vacant. In 2026 this ran to a Phase III closing at the end of September. Each phase has its own test and interview date, so applicants should match their application to the phase they are applying in.
