Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi Khan

Ghazi University (GU) is a public sector university in Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab. The Government of Punjab created it through an Act in 2012 and it became fully functional on 11 June 2014, taking over the premises of existing colleges in the city (Source: gudgk.edu.pk/about-us). It is the main general university for the D.G. Khan division, with 25 affiliated colleges, around 11,000 enrolled students and 106 academic programmes listed on its website. GU is known for agriculture and livestock sciences, a broad BS range in arts, sciences and management, and a growing computing cluster including AI and data science.

Admission Process

GU admits undergraduates in Fall, with the online portal opening in June–July and closing in August. For Fall 2026 the BS closing date was 21 August 2026 (later notices mentioned 17 August for some programmes) — verify on the official website. Steps:

Apply online at admissions.gudgk.edu.pk.
Upload documents and select programmes.
Pay the application processing fee — Rs. 1,000 for BS programmes as per the Fall 2026 advertisement (check the official website).
Check undergraduate merit lists linked from the home page of gudgk.edu.pk.
Pay the semester fee and complete enrolment at the department.

Entry Test and Merit

BS admission is on open merit from Intermediate marks; the Ghazi University Admission Test applies only to MS/MPhil/PhD (or an NTS GAT alternative). Merit formula for BS is not published — check the official website. Full guide: Ghazi University entry test page.
