Mid-October is a strange time in the Pakistani admission calendar. Most Fall 2026 intakes have closed, first and second merit lists are already out at the big public universities, and classes have started. Yet a handful of windows are genuinely open right now: NUST has begun registration for the first series of its 2027 entry test, Bahria University has published its full Spring 2027 admission plan, and the University of Karachi has opened its 2027 open-merit BS portal. If you missed a Fall deadline or your first choice did not work out, these are the doors still worth knocking on.
This guide lists only what we could confirm on official university pages or official admission notices as of 19 October 2026, with a source link next to every date. Where a university is widely expected to open soon (COMSATS, Virtual University, Air University, Riphah and others usually run a Spring intake) but has not yet posted an official schedule, we say so plainly instead of guessing. Pair this article with the month-by-month admission calendar and keep an eye on our admissions archive for new notices.
Verified: Admissions Open Right Now (19 October 2026)
Each row below was checked against the official page linked in the last column. Deadlines can be extended or revised without notice, so treat the table as a starting point and the official portal as the final word.
| University | What is open | Deadline | Official link |
| NUST (Islamabad) | NET Series 1 of the 2027 entry test cycle (first of four series for the next undergraduate intake); online registration, computer-based test in Islamabad | Registration 4 Oct – 14 Nov 2026; CBNET from 17 Nov 2026 onwards (schedule marked tentative) | nust.edu.pk dates to remember / apply at ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk |
| Bahria University (Islamabad E-8 and H-11, Health Sciences Islamabad, Lahore) | Spring 2027 undergraduate and graduate admissions, Phase I | Admission close 17 Dec 2026; BUET from 19 Dec 2026 | Admission Plan Spring 2027 |
| Bahria University Karachi Campus (BUKC) | Spring 2027 admissions, Phase I | Admission close 16 Nov 2026; BUET 18 Nov 2026 | Admission Plan Spring 2027 |
| Bahria University Health Sciences Karachi / PNNC and IPP | Spring 2027 admissions, Phase I | Admission close 10 Dec 2026 | Admission Plan Spring 2027 |
| Bahria University Health Sciences Karachi | Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Spring 2027 | Admission close 22 Oct 2026; BUET from 24 Oct 2026; result 30 Oct 2026 | Admission Plan Spring 2027 |
| University of Karachi | BS 1st Year and BS 3rd Year intake, Open Merit Admissions 2027 (portal banner: open now) | Form submission window reported as 12 – 21 Oct 2026 in the admission notice; confirm on the portal’s Admission Schedule | uokadmission.edu.pk |
Three practical notes on this table. First, NUST labels the series by test year, so NET Series 1 of 2027 is the test you take now for the intake that begins in autumn 2027; each series needs a separate registration form. Source: https://nust.edu.pk/admissions/undergraduates/dates-to-remember/. Second, Bahria’s plan gives different closing dates per campus column, and a Phase II test follows in January 2027 for most campuses, so a missed December date is not necessarily fatal. Source: https://www.bahria.edu.pk/page/RedirectToPageTemplate?pageContentId=8895&websiteId=1. Third, the University of Karachi runs its BS admissions on an annual (calendar-year) cycle, which is why its 2027 forms open in October 2026; the exact window should be read from the schedule document on the portal, because the dates above come from the published admission notice rather than the portal text itself.
Recently Closed: Do Not Waste Time on These
Students often lose days chasing admissions that have already shut. The following deadlines are verified as past. If you are on one of these lists, your next step is the merit list and fee deadline, not a new application; see our merit list schedule guide.
| University | Intake | Closed on | Source |
| University of the Punjab | Phase 2 (vacant seats) undergraduate admissions 2026-27, first-come-first-served | Portal closed 28 Sep 2026, 11:59 PM | pu.edu.pk admission notice |
| University of Sindh, Jamshoro | Admissions 2027 online registration (pre-entry test held 4 and 11 Oct 2026) | 11 Sep 2026 | Advertisement 2027 (PDF) |
| University of Gujrat (Mandi Bahauddin sub-campus notice) | Fall 2026 BS morning programmes | 7 Aug 2026; classes began 7 Sep 2026 | uog.edu.pk (notice as reproduced on ilmkidunya) |
| Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur | Admissions 2027 (BS, BBA, Pharm-D, LLB); pre-entry test 13 Oct 2026 | 22 Sep 2026 (extended date), as reported in the admission notice | admission.salu.edu.pk |
| Allama Iqbal Open University | Autumn 2026 semester (ODL and face-to-face) | Late-fee extension ended 5 Oct 2026, as reported; confirm at aiou.edu.pk | check the official website |
Expected Soon but Not Yet Announced
A Spring intake is normal practice at several universities, but as of 19 October 2026 we could not find an official Spring 2027 schedule on these sites. Do not rely on third-party dates for them.
- COMSATS University Islamabad: the admissions site at admissions.comsats.edu.pk showed only campus links when checked, with no Spring 2027 announcement. COMSATS Spring admissions typically use NTS NAT scores; see our NAT category guide.
- Virtual University of Pakistan: no Spring 2027 notice was visible on vu.edu.pk at the time of checking. VU’s previous Spring cycle (Spring 2026) opened in early January with a 20 February deadline, which is a reasonable guide to timing but not a confirmed date.
- UET Lahore: the undergraduate portal at admission.uet.edu.pk had no Spring 2027 schedule when checked. UET’s Spring 2026 undergraduate notice was published in mid-December 2025, so a December announcement would be consistent with past practice.
- Air University, Riphah, UMT, UCP, SZABIST, Iqra, NUML and IIUI: all usually admit in Spring, but we did not verify an official 2027 schedule for this article; check each university’s admissions page directly.
How to Apply in the Next 30 Days: A Step-by-Step Plan
- Decide which of the open windows actually fit your qualification: NUST NET needs HSSC (or A-level / equivalent) in the relevant group; Bahria’s DPT line, for example, requires pre-medical HSSC; University of Karachi BS 1st Year is intermediate-marks based.
- Create your account on the official portal only (ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk, bahria.edu.pk/admissions, uokadmission.edu.pk). Never pay anyone claiming to “book” a seat.
- Scan your documents now: matric and intermediate result cards, CNIC or B-form, photographs and domicile. Use our documents checklist so nothing is missing.
- Pay the processing fee through the method the portal specifies (NUST, for instance, uses a fee invoice paid via 1Link) and keep the receipt.
- Note the test date and centre. Bahria’s BUET and NUST’s CBNET are computer-based; book the earliest slot you can so a retake in a later series remains possible.
- Set reminders for the merit list and fee deadlines that follow; a seat is lost if the admission fee is not paid in time.
Which Open Window Suits Which Student?
You want engineering or computing at a top-ranked public university
NUST NET Series 1 is the clear option. Starting early gives you up to four attempts across the cycle, and NUST uses your best score. Study our NUST merit calculation guide and the NET entry test page before you register.
You want to start classes in January rather than wait until autumn
Bahria’s Spring 2027 plan has regular classes commencing 25 January 2027 and weekend classes on 22 January 2027, with campuses in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. Source: https://www.bahria.edu.pk/page/RedirectToPageTemplate?pageContentId=8895&websiteId=1.
You are in Sindh and want an affordable public-sector BS
The University of Karachi open-merit BS intake is on an annual cycle and does not require an entry test for most programmes (LLB needs LAT). It is the biggest window currently open in Karachi.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Trusting a date from a coaching centre or social media post instead of the official page; extensions and revisions are common.
- Registering for NET without checking the eligibility criteria for your intended programme first.
- Filling the Bahria form for one campus without realising each campus column has its own closing date.
- Leaving fee payment to the last day; bank and 1Link outages happen, and portals close at midnight.
- Ignoring Phase II or later series on the assumption that everything has closed.
- Applying for a programme whose HEC recognition or accreditation you have not checked; use our HEC recognition guide.
FAQs
Are any Fall 2026 undergraduate admissions still open in Pakistan?
Not among the universities we verified. Punjab University’s Phase 2, University of Gujrat, AIOU Autumn and the University of Sindh 2027 registration have all closed. Some private universities may accept late applicants informally, but that is not an advertised window; ask the admissions office directly.
Is NUST NET Series 1 the admission for Fall 2027?
Yes. NUST’s dates page lists it under the schedule of the NUST Entry Test 2027, with registration 4 October to 14 November 2026 and the computer-based test from 17 November 2026 onwards. The intake itself begins in the autumn of 2027. Source: https://nust.edu.pk/admissions/undergraduates/dates-to-remember/.
When do Bahria Spring 2027 classes start?
The admission plan gives 22 January 2027 for weekend classes and 25 January 2027 for regular classes. Source: https://www.bahria.edu.pk/page/RedirectToPageTemplate?pageContentId=8895&websiteId=1.
Has COMSATS announced Spring 2027 admissions?
Not as of 19 October 2026 on the official admissions site we checked. COMSATS normally opens Spring admissions in the last quarter of the year, so revisit admissions.comsats.edu.pk regularly.
Do I need an entry test for University of Karachi BS 2027?
For most open-merit programmes admission is based on prerequisite marks; LLB requires the HEC Law Admission Test. The portal’s Admission Schedule document is the authoritative place to confirm this for your programme. Source: https://www.uokadmission.edu.pk/.
